Exterminate the Unwanted

California State Senator Bill Monning recently announced his plan to push a bill on legalizing assisted suicide. Monning running on the recent and well known case of Brittany Maynard, a woman with terminal brain cancer who stated that she would end her life "when the time seemed right." The mantra behind those supporters of euthanasia, is that we should offer people the option to "die with dignity." On their own terms when they want. At first glance, this might seem altruistic. "I choose death so others won't have to worry about me. I'm a parasite, I can't give, I only take; therefore, I should die." But a look closer shows the push to legalize euthanasia and takes aim at the very definition of life. Who decides what life is? With Roe vs. Wade the state tried to define when life began. With euthanasia the state tries to define when it should end. History has shown that this never ends well.

In 1984, then Colorado governor, Richard Lamm, stated that elderly people who were terminally ill "have a duty to die... Like leaves which fall off a tree forming the humus in which other plants can grow, we've got a duty to die and get out of the way with all of our machines and artificial hearts, so that our kids can build a reasonable life." At the time Lamm made that statement, he received a lot of backlash and tried to find a cure for his foot-in-mouth syndrome. However, today this line of thinking is becoming more and more mainstream, as demonstrated by the high publicity of Brittany Maynard's decision to die.

First let's discuss what euthanasia is. Euthanasia is an intentional and direct act causing a patient's death. A patient decides he no longer desires to live and goes to his doctor who through various means, causes the patient's death. The question I want answered is where legalization will lead a society. When boiled down to it, the fundamental reason for implementing euthanasia is to get rid of the unwanted. The same reason for abortion. A human being is unwanted by parent/family/society so to get rid of this unwanted nuisance we kill it. Often the arguments for euthanasia sound merciful and compassionate stating that it avoids the needless suffering of individuals. But there is a slippery slope to the legalization of assisted suicide.

Let's consider this hypothetical for a moment. Euthanasia has become legal in the US by federal statute. At first, a few take advantage of this, and as it becomes more regular it becomes more accepted. It becomes expected that those with terminal illness, mental handicaps, or any other "defect" society has deemed not "normal" it becomes the thing to do with the unwanted. We kill them. At first, of course, this is voluntary, but as things progress, let us say some legislator comes up with a plan to make it mandatory, but this time it has become so accepted that the people are actually for it. So the people have been conditioned to believe that it is the duty of government to rid society of the unwanted. They bring no benefit to society so they must be exterminated. But who defines benefit? I have good friends who were diagnosed with what doctors would consider mental handicaps, physical defects that would make it hard for them to live a "normal" life. These friends of mine have touched and impacted the lives of hundreds of people for the better. Would they be considered better off dead?

One of the arguments in favor of euthanasia is that the patients will die anyways so hastening the death will avoid unnecessary suffering. But the truth is everyone will die eventually, and as we know that life often has suffering in it and when another is the cause that hastens the death, we call it homicide. Because the truth is life is something granted to man by God. It is a right of God to live not one of government. The inalienable rights of life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness were not rights given by the government. For an individual to cause the untimely death of another is a homicide and when it is done intentionally, it is murder. The fact that the doctor has the patient's consent does not make this murder right. Adults can consent to a lot of things that are still morally wrong.

As Norman Giesler put it, "Euthanasia doesn't bring mercy to the sufferer but rather destroys the sufferer. Euthanasia doesn't uphold patient autonomy, it ends patient autonomy. It doesn't enable people to 'die with dignity' but enables them to be killed like laboratory rats." Voluntary euthanasia will lead to involuntary euthanasia, it is the duty of civilized society to care for each other not send them to their deaths because they are a burden to us. As a citizen of the state of California, I oppose Senator Monning's bill, and ask that you would join me as well.

Where to Begin?

Everything has to have a beginning. Every creature a birth, every journey a first step in the right direction, every story the first touch of pen to paper. So the question lingering in my mind for some time has been... Where to begin?

Believing that our society was heading down the wrong path, I wanted to do something about it. But I've always been questioning whether what I've done was the right thing. Did it really make a difference? As I watch with shock how politics, as usual, loses character, candidates on both sides willing to take cheap shots to win, I secretly wonder if another election will really change anything?

Don't get me wrong, I am a strong believer in the power of the vote. But I am becoming less of one in human virtue. But rather than take a pessimistic view, this actually has encouraged me. I know what course we must now take.

Granted it's a simple one, one I technically already knew. The road to fix society begins in the home. When fathers and mothers raise their children according to the biblical principles that God has designed humanity to follow and live by. That is when things will begin to change. Does that mean leave government alone? Of course not, but what needs to be done is men of proven character who love the Lord must be chosen to lead. Exodus 18:21 says,

Moreover thou shalt provide out of all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them, to be rulers of thousands, and rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens.
This is what we need, men of character who care more about God's principles then power. Men who fear God not man. May we all strive to instill in ourselves that character.

Taking Back California: Part 1

I never did care for that blank screen page. I prefer to reading someone else's work then coming up with my own. So many thoughts swirling in my head right now it's hard to think. As I sit here typing the words as they come, pausing to sip from my now cold cup of coffee (it always tasted bitter when cold) I think upon words I once heard. "We are involved in a great cosmic battle between truth and lies."

Never has that seemed more real to me than now. You often get discouraged in this job. It really does bring out the worst in people, but those that remember why they're here keep a steady head while everyone else loses theirs. One such person is Assemblywoman Shannon Grove.

I've never met anyone quite like Shannon. Honestly, when I first met her I didn't know what to expect. Never being in politics before up to that time I didn't think a person like her existed. With a little bit more experience under my belt, I'm certain a person like her doesn't exist. She is one-of-a-kind.

To get an understanding you need to see that California's State government is under a strangle hold by Social Extremists from San Francisco who have high-jacked the Democrat party. So the battle is not one of their party versus our party. But one of virtue versus immorality, truth versus lie. God versus man. These Social Extremists have a two-thirds majority in Sacramento which means they can pass whatever bills they want. Any and all opposition is futile, they will pass what they want passed. This is how California passed the horrendous AB 1266, now coming to a public restroom near you. Loosely put, if you feel like a girl today but your biological make-up says you
re a boy, you get to use the girl's restroom.

So against this seemingly impervious wall of perversion stands Shannon. A business owner from Bakersfield, CA who's not afraid to stand on the Assembly floor hammering the fact into the members heads that the only thing that can help drug abusers isn't more lenient sentences but the saving grace of Jesus Christ.

This is where it all begins. If anything comes out of this silent California Revolution it will be because of this woman. She has slowly over the years been fighting for truth and getting others to join the fight. One person with a love for God and a passion to please Him and fight for truth.

Brown Vetoes SB 25

On Sunday September 28th, California Gov. Jerry Brown vetoed union-backed Senate Bill 25, which would have allowed state labor authorities to force union contracts on farm workers through mandatory mediation.
While the Governor’s veto was a victory for workers’ rights statewide, thousands at Fresno-based Gerawan Farming are still being railroaded into the United Farm Workers (FW) against their will.
Gerawan workers held a decertification election last November, but the California Agricultural Labor Relations Board (ALRB) is refusing to count the votes in a flagrant attempt to help the UFW divert three percent of the workers’ pay into the union coffers.
If the Governor believes, as he said in a veto message Sunday night, that labor election disputes “should be dealt with so the process is balanced and fair,” he will call upon the ALRB to count the votes of the Gerawan workers to secure their Constitutionally protected freedoms of speech and assembly.
The workers, led by Silvia Lopez, a single mother and long-time Gerawan employee, will plea for Brown’s help in their fight against forced unionization at a press conference outside an ALRB hearing on Wednesday, October 1, at 10:00 a.m. in the Grand Ballroom of the Radisson Hotel (formerly Holiday Inn), 1055 Van Ness Avenue Fresno, California.
To coincide with the ALRB hearings and the workers’ press conference, the Center for Worker Freedom (CWF) is launching a new series of billboards in Sacramento this week.  One is addressed to the UFW and reads “Hey UFW:  No means NO!”  Another reads “CA farm workers said NO to the UFW: Can Governor Brown?”

Taking Back California: Introduction

Cronyism. Define the California Republican Party in one word and that is the word to use. While the democrats in Sacramento gained a super majority over both houses and passed wave after wave of ridiculous liberal legislation that no one could stop, the CRP became complacent, turned inward, and fell asleep. The party became a social club, a way to live the high life off of donors that didn't care for those "divisive" social issues. Instead of fighting for the people, the GOP took to running worthless campaigns in an effort to merely get delegates to go to convention to support lobbyists with thick wallets.

In the meantime, California is burning, and not just because of forest fires. CA became a byword of many. "We won't let them Californianize my state!" some shouted. The state increased in debt, and is suffering through one of the worst droughts in its history made worse by government regulations and enviro-loving hippies. A place were normal and natural became unnatural. A place were natural differences were defined as hate and bigotry, and were saying, "killing a child because you didn't like that Johnny turned out to be a Suzy is wrong," earns you the title of racist. So many families and businesses started to leave the once great state of California. From her valleys to her mountains, to her missions and her fountains, the Great Californian Exodus had begun.

Yet quietly a revolution was being born. While the Democrats enjoyed their power, and the Republicans became content with the scraps, a small group in the Republican Party, united in the cause of freedom, began a effort that would shake the state to its very core. This is their story. Their story as I watch it play out before my eyes. For the story has only just begun and where it will end we are not sure. But I want to write it all out here, whether we win or lose.

Gerawan Farmworkers Ask Gov Brown Veto SB 25

It has begun. Farm workers, a group whose demographic has largely been Hispanic, has been a strong supporter of the Democrat Party for years. Largely due to the efforts of Cesar Chavez. This group has been a huge supporter of unions and democrats, believing that their right to work, their right to freedom and liberty, was fought for and defended by the democrat party. Some of these workers fled from tyrannical governments in central and south America in an effort to find freedom in the land of opportunity. But now, things are changing. On a farm in Central California, farm workers have been happily employed. Everything seemed wonderful. Until they were contacted by the United Farm Workers union. The UFW, happening to be a little short on cash, decided to unionize the Gerawan farm workers. Taking 3% of the workers pay as dues. Realizing that the union could not offer them anything more then what the workers were already receiving. The farm workers said no. But the UFW won't take no for an answer.

The farm workers then organized themselves to fight against the union. They collected signatures and sent the to the Agriculture Labor Relations Board, asking to  stop the union. the ALRB rejected them. More signatures were gathered again the ALRB rejected them. Finally a court case was filed, and what has happened next is best described in a letter the workers sent to Governor Jerry Brown.

"There were several hundred of us outside the courthouse in Fresno protesting while inside the ALRB told the judge they wanted to "impose" a contract on us that we do not want, were not allowed to negotiate, and will never be allowed to vote on. Fortunately, the judge protected us and told the ALRB that he would not force a contract on us, and that we want our votes counted instead. If you sign SB 25, a judge won't be able to protect us from ALRB anymore.

As you know, we have a history of earning the industry's highest wages, but then suddenly the UFW came back after being gone for 20 years and they want to force their union on us. ALRB said they would protect us, but instead they side with the union against us. The board you appointed allowed a contract to be written that will force us to pay 3% to the union or be fired. It will also prohibit us from going on strike to protest ALRB and UFW, which we have done many times. It's hard to believe that you and ALRB would do this to us without letting us vote."

The farm workers need our help. Please call Governor Brown today at (916) 445-2841 and ask him to stand for liberty and not with the unions who are trying to take away Constitutional liberties to benefit themselves.

Restoring America: One State at a Time

Life's funny in some ways. You have ideas or dreams only to have them change... Refocus. I used to tell friends my dream was to become an attorney that practiced in the DC area, and live on some land in VA. I wanted to leave California, felt it was a hopeless case and join the increasing number of Californian citizens and business that are jumping ship. The fight against excessive government looked over for CA. But looks can be deceiving.

Then I attended the California Republican Party convention in Los Angeles. This being my first convention I didn't know what to expect and honestly it wasn't much. Millionaires and Politicians with big egos swarmed the place. But something stood out here, a small group. A shining light of individuals who had a purpose. A vision. A group ready to take on the status quo, and take back California. Now these weren't pie in the sky dreamers, but men and women of action, the vision wasn't some far off hope but an attainable reality. And right under the noses of the Republican establishment contented with mediocrity, I watched a plan being implemented, and begin to gain momentum. A plan that I was honored to discover I was playing a part in.

The scriptures say "A man's heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps." After seeing what I've seen I don't want to leave anymore. I have a chance to help change California, take it back. Leaving now is no longer an option.

Marriage in America

There has been a lot of discussion about marriage lately. Turn on the television and you'll be bombarded by some message or other promoting someone's opinion on the definition of marriage, whether it's the commercial that throws in a gay couple along with other families, or the tv series where the single parent is trying to mange the home. Go over to the Christian homeschoolers circle and another debate about marriage is raging, that is, whether young people should court or date before marriage. Each one pointing the finger at the other blaming them for all the problems that marriages face.

Though I personally agree with the courtship model, I'm not hear to add my voice to the debate, and spew out all the evils of dating. Frankly I see something wrong with marriage in America and I think it is much more than whether Christians should date or court, and it bothers me that Christians don't seem to care. 40 to 50 percent of marriages in the US end in divorce according to the American Psychological Association. There has become a growing lack of care towards marriage. People are cohabiting (read fornicating) rather than getting married and if they due marry it will probably only last 8 years according to some experts. Why is this? Why are the divorce rates so high? Even among Christian circles? The answer? A lower moral standard. Let me give you a little history lesson to tell you what I mean.

Bohemians

The Bohemians were artists. Artists that held to the beliefs of that 18th century philosopher Rousseau. They believed whatever made them feel good was right. Morality was redefined by them, They rejected Christianity and its moral standard, in its stead, they raised a new one They become their own gods, self-affluence was their doctrine. And their morality was defined by the feelings of their own hearts. During the time that these Bohemians lived they were in a small circle of painters, sculpters, poets, and authors. Pushed away from a society that mostly held to the Christian standard of morality. The Bohemians were also predominately men. The women in these circles were the mistresses of these men. These women, however, didn't appreciate what they viewed as a one sided deal. They wanted to be just as "free" as their male conterparts, and thus the Feminist Movement was born.

Feminism

The Feminist Movement had a lot of key players, but they all wanted the same thing, the "freedom" to be as sexually promiscuous as the men. Now the women who felt this way were still a small
mojarity, women from the Bohemian artistic lifestyle. One woman in particular was Margaret Sanger, the founder of Planned Parenthood. Sanger was a woman who wanted "freedom" from the restraints of Christian morality. The mistress of men such as author H.G. Wells and sexual theorist Havelock Ellis, Sanger fought to promote "sexual liberation" for women. Meaning? The "right" for women to do what they want, when they want, with whomever they want.

The Radical Sixties and No-Fault Divorce

Sanger and others like her paved the way for the radical sixties. Where Bohemian culture, once the minority, became widely accepted by the hippie movement. These pleasure seekers threw out the moral standards of their parents because they held them back from seeking to desires of their own lusts. They began a conquest of narcotic and sexual experimentation. It is also not a coincidence that it was during this time that no-fault divorce was enacted. You no longer were required to stay married with your spouse. If you simply decided that you didn't "love" the person any more you could divorce. This struck at the very foundation of society. The family is the core of humanity. But no matter, the thought of being forced to remain faithful "till death do we part" was to much for these Bohemian pleasure seekers. It must go.

 Today

Fast forward to today, divorce rates have risen dramatically since the passage of no-fault divorce laws. Add to that the increasing rates of cohabitation and gay activism. What history has shown us is that the problem is a total rejection of God's moral standard. Society has become obsessed with fulfilling the lustful passion of its heart. The problem is a lack of moral character. This is what
Christians should be focusing on most. Christian's should be teaching God's moral standard, why? Because we are the ones who have it. The Bible tells us how we are to live our lives. We must do our duty to help raise up a generation that fully believes 1 Thessalonians 4:3-8

"For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication: That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour; Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God: That no man go beyond and defraud his brother inany matter: because that the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also have forewarned you and testified. For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness. He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given unto us his holy Spirit."

Young men and women should protect their hearts, follow God's word and not fall into the lie that the world has that you can do whatever you want as long as it doesn't hurt somebody else. This is not true! If you break God's moral standard you will get hurt! Do we get angry at the manufacturer of the toaster for saying we shouldn't put it in water? He is taking away my freedom to do what I want with my toaster after all! No! The manufacturer knows what is going to keep the toaster working and keep me alive. Similarly, It is only by building moral character, a belief system founded on God's bedrock principles that we can change this nation and heal the hurts, because God is the manufacturer of our bodies and knows what is best for us.

Let's Talk Politics, Pt. 1

So some things were brought to my attention lately that made me really think about doing this post. What I'm gonna say some may not agree with especially with my intended audience, young conservative home school graduates. But this is something that I want to share with you all. A little glimpse of what I've learned being in politics. I hope that you understand that my point behind this is to encourage you to be wise in the political arena and not ignorant. Jesus told us in Matt. 10:16 that we are to be wise as serpents and gentle as doves. the snake is a shrewd creature able to recognize friend from foe; actions that will benefit or actions that will harm.

What I want to do in this post, and future ones like it, is teach you a little on how to be "wise as serpents" because from what I've seen, young conservatives need it... Badly. Now, don't get me wrong. I'm not saying I have all the answers, I most definitely am not the most experienced dude in politics. But from my experience I've come across young conservatives making mistakes that will actually hurt them if not corrected. So without further adieu let's get down to business shall we?

The Media is not Your Friend
I came across this recently on Facebook. A young student was making a comment on an article she saw on a news media's website. The article was discussing the "policy shift" of a major conservative 2016 Presidential nominee hopeful. The article had apparently changed this young lady's view entirely on this guy. She now no longer supports him because of the statements made in this article. My verdict? Bad, move Jeeves.

The media is not your friend, not even the supposedly conservative ones. I've been in the business long enough to know that even if you agree on major policy issues, if you're not that news outlets "guy" you're a target and they will spin your statements. Now I'm not saying that was what was done in this case but after reading the article myself I noticed some issues that made me skeptical of it (*Sniff* *Sniff* I smell a spin doctor). Watch out for these kinds of things. Don't believe every thing you see, read, or hear. Fact check it, find the context. Focus on what was actually said rather than what the media tells you what was said (I find it hilarious that they will show you a speech then begin to interpret it for you). If you can do this you'll less likely to be duped by the media.

Don't Post Everything that Comes to Mind!
PLEASE! Don't do this one! Especially not, if you are considering running for office one day. It will come back to haunt you. See something that Congress or your state leg is doing that really rubs you the wrong way? Act rationally, don't begin a slug fest of ad hominem attacks, or post memes with questionable facts. It will come back to get you, trust me. For example, I know of a young gentleman that thought a particular post that he saw would be just the thing to post on Facebook for a candidate. So he posted the picture on the candidate's timeline. What he didn't realize however was how that picture was very extreme in nature. The statements made could also have been easily spun to make the candidate look like a extreme radical with not much capital in the intelligence department. Fortunately, it was taken down before it could cause serious damage. But just take this as a reminder, be careful little ones what you post.

So those are a couple issues I wanted to share with you. Of course I'll probably be back with more as I go along. But fill free to comment your thoughts below, share this on social media if you found it helpful, or whatever. God bless, and I hope to see you making an impact in our culture.

Court is Now in Session

I recently just got back from law school orientation. I'm really blessed to be attending one of the very few (and I mean VERY few) law schools that believe in the true definition of the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God that control the universe. Very simply the laws of nature are the absolutes that God has dictated the universe to function under. The law of gravity, the law of aerodynamics, the laws of thermodynamics, and so forth. These laws guide nature and anything that does not follow these laws can not cope with reality and breaks down.  This isn't just true of the material universe but also of humanity as well. As Blackstone, the great English legal theorist said “For as God, when he created matter, and endued it with a principle mobility, established certain rules for the perpetual direction of that motion; so when he created man, and endued him with a freewill to conduct himself in all parts of life, he laid down certain immutable laws of human nature, whereby that freewill is in some degree regulated and restrained, and gave him also the faculty of reason to discover the purport of those laws."

In the beginning, God created a universe that was structured with order, when man sinned against God taking of the fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, that order began to break down. Why? Ravi Zacharias explains it this way, the Hebrew language for knowing good and evil is actually translated, "deciding for myself what is right and wrong." Order gave way to chaos because man chose chaos. The order is still here, moral absolutes exist, we chose to ignore them.

Know why am I bothering to right about all this? Here's why, in criminal law when you break the law you cause detrimental effects not only to yourself but to society as well. Your actions do have consequences not just for yourself but for others, whether its a malum in se crime, a crime evil in itself, or a malum prohibitum crime, one illegal because the legislature said so. This is why the state sues you in a criminal action. Because you have threatened the well being of society as a whole.

Now picture this. The God of the universe created a set order of laws, much like are government. Unlike our governments, however, God is the ultimate Governor. His laws are a universal to all people, time, and cultures. What this means is when we break God's laws that govern our lives, i.e. the Ten Commandments, we not only endanger our own safety and well being but that of those around us, and the God of the universe then takes legal action against us for our sin. He becomes the Great Prosecutor.

Now imagine yourself in a court room, where the Great Prosecutor has just proven your guilt. Its obvious, the Great Cloud of Witnesses have testified to the fact, your guilty. Your sentence? Eternal damnation. In a situation like this there is only one hope for the defendant. You've got only one solitary hope. And its not in your power to get it. The only way to be freed is by an official pardon on the part of the state. The prosecutor must not press charges. In legal terms this is called a nolle prosequi, "unwillingness to pursue."And there is no way a Holy Righteous Judge would do that. Or would He?

You see God is the Holy and Righteous Judge but He is also filled with mercy. This is why He doesn't simple do away with us, He gives us time. "It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not." - Lamentations 3:22 We often ask in times of great catastrophes where was God in that? Where was God in this? How could He let that happen? But what we need to start asking is why in the world am I still here? You see God sent His Son Jesus to take the place of our sins, the punishment was sentenced upon Christ in your stead. In that one action The Great Prosecutor withdrew charges, and you are found blameless in the sight of the Law. If you repent and trust in the atoning work of Jesus Christ you can walk out of the courtroom free and this story can become a reality in your life. So what do you say? Are you ready?

Common Core: What Does it Mean? by Josh Denton of Families for Reformation

In brief: What is Common Core?
Common Core is the name for an initiative that began in 2009. Briefly, the goal of Common Core is to
implement a national set of academic standards that regulates the material used and taught in our schools.
Under normal circumstances, such standards are set by the state; however, this is not to presume that
Common Core is the first idea of its nature. Common Core is a very near replica of H.R. Act 1804, also known as Goals 2000: Educate America Act. In its own words, Goals 2000 was “To promote the development and adoption of a voluntary national system of skill standards and certifications; and for other purposes.”The nation's governors and education commissioners, through their representative organizations, the National Governors Association Center for Best Practices (NGA) and the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO), led the development of the Common Core State Standards and continue to lead the initiative.
Is Common Core Beneficial?
The Common Core Standard’s official website uses appealing language that may at first glance sound
innocuous. However, anything more than a superficial look will quickly reveal that the implementation of
these standards is anything but beneficial to our education systems. First, Common Core is dangerous because of the amount of Federal government involvement that is necessary for the examination, and regulation of these standards. Those who advocate Common Core insist that the actual implementation of Common Core, including how the standards are taught, the curriculum developed, and the materials used to support teachers to help students reach the standards, is led entirely at the state and local levels. While the aforementioned decisions may be in the hands of the state government, the fact remains that the funding and regulation of Common Core is entirely up to the federal government. It has been proved time and again that states often sacrifice freedom from the regulation of federal government on the altar of government funds. Second, Common Core leaves no room for individualization. Recall that it is a set of rigorous standards for all children.
Again, at first this sounds positive, but the results are showing otherwise. Common sense tells us that not all
children have the ability to learn at the same rate. Since Common Core pushes for a universal system, it is
leading to stunted education. Even articles written in defense of CCSS admit that support for the Standards is crumbling. Research has shown that the lack of time, resources, and tools to address opportunity gaps has put these lofty State goals out of reach, leaving education spending costs up, while test scores remain low.

What are the Dangers of CCSS?
Common Core leaves us with some very disturbing explanations in response to crucial, genuine questions,
such as the fact that it includes a national database of information. One legitimate quandary arises as to how sex education is affected by uniform standards. Under the National Sexuality Education Standards (NSES),
designed by SIECUS (Sexuality Information and Education Council of the U.S.) and other organizations linked with Planned Parenthood, children by the end of 2nd grade are taught to “provide examples of how friends, family, media, society and culture influence the ways in which boys and girls think they should act.”
By the end of 5th grade, students should be able to identify functions of reproductive body parts and “define sexual orientation as the romantic attraction of an individual to someone of the same gender or a different
gender.”

Standards like these assume that all children are alike in their maturity and development and overlook parents’ assessment of their children’s readiness for sex education.
While this information is deeply disturbing, perhaps even more so are proponents’ responses to criticism of
Common Core. In addressing criticism of the Common Core national education standards, a panelist at the
Center for American Progress (CAP), a liberal think tank, said critics were a “Tiny minority” who opposed
standards altogether, which was unfair because “The children belong to all of us.” While such comments are
perhaps not reflective of Common Core as an entity, they do most certainly serve as a grave caution to which the mindset Common Core could lead us in the future.

What is Our Response?
Common Core is officially fully implemented. So what steps can we take to insure that CCSS is defeated just as
Goals 2000 was defeated in years past? Firstly, educate yourself on the issues pertaining to Common Core,

if citizens in every state contact their state and federal representatives and demand that CCSS be blocked.
