Where to Begin?

Everything has to have a beginning. Every creature a birth, every journey a first step in the right direction, every story the first touch of pen to paper. So the question lingering in my mind for some time has been... Where to begin?

Believing that our society was heading down the wrong path, I wanted to do something about it. But I've always been questioning whether what I've done was the right thing. Did it really make a difference? As I watch with shock how politics, as usual, loses character, candidates on both sides willing to take cheap shots to win, I secretly wonder if another election will really change anything?

Don't get me wrong, I am a strong believer in the power of the vote. But I am becoming less of one in human virtue. But rather than take a pessimistic view, this actually has encouraged me. I know what course we must now take.

Granted it's a simple one, one I technically already knew. The road to fix society begins in the home. When fathers and mothers raise their children according to the biblical principles that God has designed humanity to follow and live by. That is when things will begin to change. Does that mean leave government alone? Of course not, but what needs to be done is men of proven character who love the Lord must be chosen to lead. Exodus 18:21 says,

Moreover thou shalt provide out of all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them, to be rulers of thousands, and rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens.
This is what we need, men of character who care more about God's principles then power. Men who fear God not man. May we all strive to instill in ourselves that character.
